A tribute to the fish that were killed when cyanide from a metal coatings factory leaked into the canal at Pleck in Walsall recently. The poisoning was so significant that when I was there, a police and security guard presence was guarding the entrances to the canal to stop people walking along it. Fish are mostly unseen though therefore out if mind, but when 1000s of them are floating dead in the water, they are much harder to ignore. These paintings of the roach that live there is a celebration of their life but also a mourning for their mass death. as well as all the creatures that eat them.

When we poison the water, we poison ourselves.
