I’m delighted to share that my new exhibition, Flight, opens this autumn at the Shetland Museum & Archives, together with the launch of my accompanying art book of the same name.
Flight explores the theme of movement and transformation — the moment when energy becomes spirit, and spirit takes form. The idea of flight has always fascinated me: the power, the vulnerability, and the grace within it. These works reflect my continued dialogue with Shetland’s wild landscapes, its birds, skies, and the elemental forces that shape both the land and the soul.
The exhibition brings together paintings created over the past few years, each one capturing that fleeting sense of release — where motion, emotion, and meaning merge into one.
Alongside the exhibition, I’ve collaborated with Urban Viking Publishing to produce a new book edition of Flight. It includes full-colour reproductions of the works on display, accompanied by my reflections on the process and philosophy behind the series.
“I wanted to express the point where motion becomes meaning — where bird, wind, and human spirit share the same breath.”
The exhibition opens to the public at the Shetland Museum & Archives on Sunday 26th October 2025, and will run until 4th January 2026.
