This drawing was inspired by the job did for many years of her working life- stamping out bits of metal into shapes using a hand press working at a peace rate. she always had cut and bleeding hands because of constant exposure to oil and sharp metal. this is the factory I also worked in aged 15 where my job was to drag out scrap metal from under the machines to weight it, as well as to degrees the good parts using a toxic chemical call trichloroethane. The four years I spent doing this played a very big part in turning me into an artist .
