In the northern hemisphere the intensity of the darkness on the human psyche that is starved of light for months on end is intense, and any glimmer of light is thirstily drunk in. Here a flock of snow buntings appear bringing remnants of arctic light reflecting from the white of their feathers giving food for hungry souls.
