ENQUIRE

One of the most powerful experiences of my life occurred at the Loch of Voxterby on the west side of Shetland when my friend sang a water song in a beautiful melodic voice in a language I did not understand. Time stood still, and another dimension of the land opened up. , It started to gently rain and as my friend continued to sing for the water the trout started to rise all around us, kissing the surface of the water as if they recognised this song, sending concentric circles across the loch that echoed the melody of the song. I started to cry, and my tears joined the falling rain amongst the rhythmical circles of the trout. This was an epiphany moment in my life, and I made several ‘water song ‘ paintings based on this experience.
