Water is Life

One day I was racing through the Shetland in a rush for no real reason when suddenly I got a very strong sense to pull over and step out of the car. In my mind’s eye I saw a centre that holds everything together and from which all life flows. This centre manifest as a patch of calm water that captured the warmth of the sun with the cool of the water. At the centre a single rain drop fell rhythmically , in time to the beat of the heart , sending echo’s like a native drum across the water land and sky. This circle took in all the colours of the sun sky and water merging them into a pattern in harmony with the rhythms emanating from the single drop of water. The merging of the sun and the water contained in this circle was the source of all life, but each emanated from an even bigger centre that was impossible to see. Two divers called , and even though they saw the centre that holds everything together clearly, they were unable to enter. Instead, they stayed at the edge , pulled towards it by a powerful force but also painfully aware of the void that separates them from this centre from which everything else flows . This vision was a wakeup call for me to slow down and take my time in the landscape, to learn to listen for the heartbeat of life contained in each single drop of water when it meets light of sun .
